A celebration of the work done by the darning women, Anne, Avril and Heather. Their work has changed very little in the past hundred years. They are responsible for the quality of the cloth before it is processed and key to the factory's production.

My research around theories of the everyday is explored through a series of scenarios linking women, textiles, knowledge, skills and history is considered in the film pieces.

I am curious about the current rejuvenation of sewing at the present time and what the relationship of domestic arts is to art practice. The piece, Darning, continues my ongoing research through a series of scenarios linking women, textiles, knowledge, skills and history. This work aims to be an exploration of embedded knowledge and how it is being shared.
