Pilot project for PhD research. Traditionally Cornish women would have knitted outdoors to make the most of the natural light and therefore a regular feature of the landscape. Like many poor communities everyone was needed to contribute. My residency at Fish Factory Art Space in Falmouth (2018) culminated in a filmed walk with volunteer knitters to walk while knitting to Truro Wool shop as a tribute to the women who knitted through necessity.
